Hello November

November is one of my favorite months.  The chilly weather, cozy sweaters, comfort foods, and gathering with family make it special. While some scrapbookers create December albums or 25 days of December, I typically create an album that covers both November and December.  I call it my seasonal or holiday album. I love documenting the pre-Thanksgiving events and preparations as well as the fall festivities.

I usually start with November and end with December 31, (which happens to be my birthday).  I don't create a page for each day, I only create pages on days where I feel like something special should be documented.  There is no pressure here.  I just purchased my album for this year and am excited to get started.

Here is the first page of my 2014 holiday album.  Inspired by Ali Edwards, my first page documents my intent of the season.  Last year my intent was to focus on the details; things that can be lost in the bustle of the holidays.

My first event typically starts with an annual wreath making/craft day at my good friend Laura's house.  Another year I captured the changing color of the leaves as I walked into work or documented my first pumpkin spice latte (which now happens in October).  Whatever it is, try to focus on the smaller details.
